PSEF Timeline

1985: PSEF/ PYC hosted the Junior Districts.

1998: Started all volunteer formal Junior Instructional Sailing Program at PYC.

2003: Added a Junior Race Team.

2005: Joined Detroit Regional Yacht-Racing Association (DRYA) which enabled hosting junior sailing events at PYC on Cass Lake. Hired a sailing master which radically expanded the sailing school and race team to the local community. Junior Race Team participated in five travel regattas. Held the first annual Sail ‘N Swim DRYA Invitational during which 85 competitors in Optimists and Lasers race over two days at PYC.

2007: Junior Racing Team went to the Sears Cup in Rochester New York. One junior racer went to the Smythe quarter-finals.

2015: Five Junior Racing Teams went to the Junior North America Lightning Regatta.

2016: Junior Racers placed 1st and 2nd in the Open Bic fleet, 3rd in the Optimist class, and won the DRYA Sears Cup Trophy.
